Most often there is
The pain I feel
About the homeland
I have left behind.
The sorrows my people
Face everyday.
A nation so wealthy
Yet so impoverished.
The people sit around
waiting for a savior,
failing to realize that
they are the savior they crave!
So they suffer and suffer
from generation to generation
waiting, seemingly, in vain.
Ah! What a life!
The pain I feel
About the homeland
I have left behind.
The sorrows my people
Face everyday.
A nation so wealthy
Yet so impoverished.
The people sit around
waiting for a savior,
failing to realize that
they are the savior they crave!
So they suffer and suffer
from generation to generation
waiting, seemingly, in vain.
Ah! What a life!

nonsensical acts of the insane
irreparable damage, incalculable cost -
the years continue to roll by
still sitting, waiting idly
