THUNDER ROLLS
The thunder
rolls
across the darkened
skies
and distant clouds
of grey
find their way
to smother
out the last
rays of sun...
late
afternoon rains
Make heavy
hearts curl up with
recessing hopes.
Closing
weary eyes
letting out that
deep inner sigh.
Bringing tight
the woolen blanket
- all the while
I am thinking.
Moments pass
and I drift
slowly away ...
wakening to
a bright sunny day.
This Poem is dedicated to my dear AP sister Connie aka spiritraven
She is a inspiration to me and our indian hertiage. She keeps my head high and encourages me to keep going on.
She is sister me last remenants of the chia-ha.

I heard the cries late at night when all should be asleep. Eerie cries of such deep despair filtering in my window with the wind. Hitting396 lines, July 28. In <600 words

It was late one evening and I had just finished work. The snow was starting to come down in those big soft flakes that everyone loves. I sat down on the bench at the bus stop while waiting for my bus. On days like this the792 lines, 2 comments, May 2. It is another hot steamy day here in Virginia and I am trying to think of a reason to be thankful that is so hot. Guess what, I cannot think of one! I love the cooler weather. The nice crisp breeze of fall and the cooler nights when you can really get a good night's sleep. I love being able to leave my windows o

When I think about where I am today,I reflect back on who I have been. I have been wife, stand-in mom, best friend, sister, daughter but most of all I have been free. I have lived my life the way I wanted, where I wanted, when I wanted. Roving this land like a long lost gypsy. After days of extreme heat and bright sun, I am glad to see a little gray. It makes me appreciate the coolness it can bring. This weekend was spent in the mountains of the Shenendoah National Park. It was a fun filled weekend with friends. There was music, tours, hikes and good food. I am glad to be back home thJuly 20, 100 words. → 14 comments, Add one?

Your mirror : storm never last... on November 16The thunder rumbles thru the night
sounds like the beating of my heart
I don't like being here without you
I feel so alone when we're apart
Lightning flashes and lights the room
memories flashing through my mind
of warmth and love I feel for you
and love we'll never leave behind
The gentle rain is tapping on my window
as I am safe and nestled in your embrace
for storms never last when you're near
this special bond you can't replace -
