My name is Nicola J Steel aka silverscent. I'm 21 years old and from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. I have a wonderful fiance called Ben. He proposed to me on our holiday in Turkey, May 2009 and made me the happiest woman alive. He's my everything and the man of my dreams. I would enjoy nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with him.
As regards to my writings, I like to think of my style as contemporary, abstract and personally orientated in perspective and values. I enjoy using images with my poems just as a personal preference. Occasionally, I am inspired by the images, in which case I’ll post my inspiration with my creation. You may also notice I write about 'she' a lot (and sometimes 'he)'. 'She 'is my muse; she gets up to some crazy stuff so I often write about her. 'He' is her "friend." I've been writing regularly since 2004 and it's something I enjoy as recreation and a way to release emotions and images that I cannot release in any other way. I write every piece carefully thinking about word choice and the reason behind every image, so if you have any questions regarding my work, be it word choice, imagery, meaning or inspiration, feel free to ask and I'll gladly answer.
Thanks to everyone for reading, please don't be a stranger to my work, I need your opinions and feedback to improve and to help me continue writing. If you read my work and think "I know how silverscent could make this better" don't be afraid to let me know.
