I write poetry, I have always written poetry. I always will, there is no reason for it and yet I am compelled to do it.
I am a drop out, formal education is the largest killer of poetry, so I quit.
I sleep with various patrons of the art, so that I may continue to write poetry uninterrupted. I have a good life full of laughter and good aged scotch. I write the truth always.
Just to get this out of the way and in advance, when I critique someone, I really do. There is not a point to critique if the other person is unwilling to recieve it. I have been critiqued, I like critique, it makes me a better writer. So, if I critique you and you think "well, that bitch," you can already assume that I know that I am one, BUT not to people I do not know, where is the fun in that?
I'm here for the same reason I would think that we all are, to fine tune our written voices. So before you take offence to any of my suggestions, do me a favor? Read one of my poems and rip it apart, I really mean that.
Happy writing,
Lori
