I don't get a ton of time to write, but I really enjoy what time I do get. For me poetry is about emotion, so I try not to edit my poems after they are written. I think that changes the original meaning and mindset.
Most of my poetry is about integrating my identities. I struggled mightily with my gay identity and since coming to terms with that, I've struggled to integrate the rest of my identities into a unified one. I hope that through my poetry I can express some of the emotion of that process and, perhaps, in retrospect I will be able to see my progress through that process.
It took a while for me to let go of my writing enough to share it, because it is intensely personal and was written originally only for myself. I hope you enjoy it. Leave me a comment and I'll take a look at your writings too. I've enjoyed what I've read on here so far.
