Have you ever wondered who you really are? To question and ponder the essence of your own self being. To live your life and be filled with self doubt and insecurities. To see into the mirror and think the person you see isn’t who you are? Flashbacks of how it felt to be broken and beaten by the world filter through the mind. To lose faith in beauty as well as yourself, all while hating yourself and giving into your pain. Remembering how it is to fall and keep falling into cycles of sadness, abuse, guilt, and shame. Only to wonder if there is ever a way to crawl up and see the light, to live instead of just surviving. Looking back I see the battles I’ve won yet still see the war goes on. It’s a constant fight for me to be optimistic and to try to find my trust in life once again. I still carry the paranoia of looking over my shoulder, the anxiety of triggers, and most of all my fear to lose control. I’m learning to heal from rape and trying to move on. To regain that strength and power he stole from me in a single night. It’s a constant battle I will one day win.
These poems are my battles, my pain, my experiences, my shame all written into words.

There is only so much I can fit in this bottle,
The shame and this guilt can be so overwhelming. -
Everyday i see those nice and innocent girls,
They remind me of me, just too naive. -

Drowning In Death on April 16, 2006Just a quick note to say that due to issues at home i have been unable to judge my contest (the truth about your life). My computer is being monitored and i think it would be a little inappropriate for members of my family to find out about my connections with this site let alone read my peoms etc on it. I go back to school next week and will be able to access the site from the school's computers so will therefore judge it then. Again good luck to all and i hope everyone had a good easter.
