Greetings, my friends!
NOTE:
I used to have a lot of poems on here, but that was when I merely enjoyed writing and couldn't care less if what I wrote was actually decent or not. I went through and weeded out all the poems I didn't like, and some of the ones on here are still iffy. I still write, in fact more than I did before, but I'm not fond of posting stuff much anymore.
About me - I'm a senior in high school. I love music, writing, and astrophysics.

Space. It's a funny thing....it's dark, it's cold, it's lonely...but we all want out there, we all want to see it for ourselves. We need to see to believe. Clusters of rock and ice, formations of stars and galaxies, all bring amazment to the eyes. But one question remains.....Are we alone?
Suddenly, from behind the rim of the moon, in long, s l o w - m o t i o n moments of immense majesty, there emerges a sparkling blue and white jewel, a light , delicate sky-blue sphere laced with slowly swirling veils of white , rising gradually like a small pearl in a thick sea of black mystery. It takes more than a moment to fully realize this is Earth . . . home.

Always remember that no matter how hard you try, no matter how good you are, there's always someone who is that much better. There's always someone who will replace you in your glory, the one who will stand on the doorstep of perfection. And there will be nothing you can do but accept your defeat, accept their superiority.
So take a deep breath and look into the eyes of something
you know you'll never be.

VioletTears on August 2, 2006So Band camp was canceled this week due the broken air conditioner in the Band room and the 110 degree weather...not so nice. Are weathering it?
I dewallpapered one wall in my room today. I was so proud. It was crazy of me to do so, but I was determined!!

I suppose if you throw yourself into music enough, you can forget you really don't have a life, huh? lol. So how are the lessons going with Mrs. Stutzman? Working on some good solo literature?

That is officially the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me. You are an amazing poet, and that cannot even COMPARE to how wonderful a friend you are. Just remember what I said...we all strive for the wrong perfection, so start striving for the right one. Be happy with yourself and start to love who you are...because I love you and if you change anything you wouldn't be MY Becky . Love ya Bex!
