1. If you cannot be open-minded please move on. I AM NOT FOR YOU.
2. If you do not have anything nice to say THEN DONT SPEAK/WRITE/COMMENT!!!! And I dont just mean here.
3. Be honest with me! If you want to get to know me DONT LIE TO ME. I wont to you.
4. Don't come here to make an alliance against someone or some group. If you do, you are a petty, small, small person.
5. Dont come here just to get another comment added to one of your poems, or to add me to your ridiculous number of friends. I AM NOT A NUMBER!!!
6. Don't spam me, or continuously IM me just to get me to join group "So-and-so". Ask me once, and ask nicely.
7. Do not tell me how you dont like my poem "So-and-so" because of "whatever" reason. Do give me suggestions and constructive criticism.
I let poetry come to me... no use searching for it. If its meant to be written down it will present itself. I'm very laid-back (too much for my own good). I'm an observer... I have a habit of staring... into the sky... or a lake... or at people. I hold the door for people and always say "thank you"... I don't like it when people don't acknowledge me and take me kindness for granted. I always try to smile when I speak and I hold eye-contact. You can take these things for what they are worth paint your own picture of me. I try not to let things get to me... and I have a habit of seeing things as worse than they really are... what's the saying...? "Making a mountain out of a mohill." I'm very optimistic and I think everything will turn out alright...which results in a lack of motivation. I see myself as undersanding and forgiving... I give people the benefit of the doubt (but I still keep an eye on people I dont know). I'm still experimenting with poetry and love constructive criticism.. cus I'll be the first to tell you... I have little experience.

PHILOSOPHY ON POETRY

BE THE SKILLFUL POET
TAKEN FROM A RECENT COMMENT I MADE IN A CONTEST:
If you feel like what you write is lacking in luster, remember that even the most disasterous poems are just steps toward improvement... I cant say that every poem you may write will be in the right direction because there is no "right direction". That is the splendor of poetry, it knows no bounds, and so any step you take will lead to enlightenment. I dont like the word "talent" because I dont really believe in it. I believe in the "skillful poet" more than in the "talented poet". Skill and talent should not be confused. Talent implies a natural ability or an innate affixation towards something while a skill is an ease in a particular subject that was earned in practice and experience. What of those "few" who seem to just be born as poets? There are some of us whose minds wander more easily than others... these "few" might not know it but their minds view the world in words.. as they analyze each flower or each raindrop that falls from the sky their minds are subconsciously organizing and connecting words and feelings and so their minds seemed to be designed to experience the world through the poet's perspective. So, they've just got a headstart in experience making them more skillful poets. Believing that there are those who have talent and those who dont is instantly limiting yourself. Believing that there are those who have achieved a skillfulness (a mastery) in something means that you believe that you can achieve such a skill. I wish I could credit myself for such wisdom but it was my art teacher Mr. Spencer 4 years ago who brought me to this realization when he said:
"I dont want to hear from you guys that you are drawing stick-figures because you just aren't very good at art. Don't complain that you dont have any talent because art is a skill not a talent. Anyone can learn to become a great artist."
...and YOU can learn to become a great poet.
I have recieved an Honorable Mention for "Brush", "Amber Ambition" and "Lovescapes & Imagery"
