My name is Robert. I live in Round Rock which is 15 miles north of Austin. I write, study martial arts, practice photography and hike. I am an atheist, a democrat, I don't drink or smoke but am addicted to coffee. I have a B.A. in management from Texas State University. I would classify myself as an ambivert who constantly works on finding a balance between being social and alone. I wrote most of my poems when I was in my 20's mostly during and right after college. I wanted to learn to write poetry in college and found out my friend Andrew had written hundreds of them. We were reading his poetry over a few beers and I was reading them and translating what I thought they about. He stopped me and asked me how the poems made me feel. I replied with "I don't know." He went on to explain that poetry wasn't as much about what you think but what you feel. He went through some of his poems and illustrated the point with examples.
After that conversation I started looking at poetry as less of political and sociological messages but more as conveying of anger, sorrow, love, in an artistic manner. I joined this site after reading it and many others for 6-9 months because I wanted to be on a site that shared creative writing in a community atmosphere. My email address is blaustx@yahoo.com

Pisces Pieces on July 4, 2006I seriously want to be a photographer, not like professional or anything, or maybe a little on the side! I love it and I see so many things that I think would make the most fascinating and beautiful pictures!! I just have to wait til I'm done with nursing school (which I may take a photography class during) then buy a super awesome (I sound like such a kid...lol) camera and just go crazy! I took photography for a year in high school, it was so fascinating, and a friend of mine is a photographer, and I'm so jealous!
Sorry, I tend to ramble but that part of your page got my attention!
Hope all is well!
