RlmcmdShow poetry

My poetry style is romantic, usually rhyming with inter-rhymes and similes, sometimes dark, sometimes light, Sometimes multi-layered, always from the right side of my brain... always from the heart. I'm learning the form of free verse, and like very much to write in Sonnet form, but what do I know, other than the voice within me. I hope you will read my poetry and enjoy it. Please drop me a line, as I am, like all of us, trying to grow in this art-form, and need your Ideas.
I have made so many friends on this site and greatly appreciate the critiques of all of you, and am awe-struck at the insightful, imaginative minds on the site. I am encouraged by the young poets I have met.. age under 21. Unbelievable! I am so glad we have intelectuals to keep the art alive!
From time to time I try to include some of my original artwork in the poem. I have painted, mostly in oils and draw in pencil and charcoal most of forty years. I play guitar, piano and organ, and fiddle around with most other instruments.
I am a doctor of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and have held professorship's in both fields on and off at The Medical University Of Ohio at Toledo and The Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and am licensed to practice Medicine and Surgery in Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina.
If the above sounds a little braggy, it really isn't. I must tell you that my quest for life is in earnest, and I have always lived every minute as if it might be my last. I suffered paralytic Polio at age two years, paralyzed in both legs, in an iron lung for six months and confined to the hospital for three years. Every day that I can strap on my braces and go out into the world is a great day, a wonderful new adventure that I cherish, and truly try to make the best of it.

Along with co-publishing a poetry book with endeavour, my brother, called "Words Of Love For Women," I am returning passionately to oil on canvas.

                  Searcher of Hat

                Hat, distant carried
                By gusts of emotion
                Just beyond reach
               Across a near breach
          Like someone’s waiting devotion

                Searcher of stars
             In moonlight delightful
               On forlorned shore
             Your silhouette adorned
          In someone’s mind, insightful

                Speaker of lyric
              Of poetry’s history
               Words personified
             Hearts made beautified
          By love, and feminine mystery

              Hauntress of Ingram
               Searcher of truth
               Blessed of spirit
                Writer of merit
            Holder of eternal youth

                Seeker of love
               Tears of growing
               Gentle of touch
               Adored so much
By those who have read… knowing

Your Radio Head

I want to live in your radio head

all night long

I want to live where your song is sung

                                                In your head

all night long

I want to be there when the sun goes down

in your dreams

Hold tight and talken with you all night long

                                                Sun goes down

In your dreams

I want to live in your radio head

all night long

I want to live where your song is sung

                                                In your head

al night long

    Hi Bob:
Just stopping by your page, because I haven't been by in a while. I see that you have a new page, it is very beautiful. I fell in love with your paintings. My favorite is the one over looking the water as the sun sets. It reminded me of watching the Heavens open.
It truely is amazing. I heard of your life story before, from Rick. But as I read your remarkable page today, it left me think that you are even more amazing then what I heard of from your brother. By the why I am sure you already know this, but Rick thinks you are the next best thing to God. I can clearly see why he thinks that way. You are an outstanding poet and artist. Keep up the magnificent work. Take care and God bless you always. Joyce
  • PodoPaloma : Hey on June 2, 2007
Well, I haven't said hello to you for awhile. So hi!
I need to get to your page a little more often and read some more of your poetry!
    Rock on!
    Sincerely,
    ~Poetrydove~
