I'm a graduate student and teaching assistant at UMD, mastering in Hispanic Lit. I plan to earn a doctorate eventually. I'm currently taking the Spring semester of my last year in order to graduate in May. Most of my poems here are contest poems, or were at one point. There's something about a little competition that makes me do better with writing, so they are the routes I take. Sadly, I've found out that the contests here are rather frequently not judged honestly and fairly. Having a definite topic is still a good exercise for me, though.
My hobbies include, but aren't limited to, bassoon/piano playing, studying, reading and writing (duh-huh), exercising and living a health conscious lifestyle, guinea pigs, classic and recent anime, yaoi in anime and manga, all language and culture, anything created by Jhonen Vasquez, and being an all-around adventurer as my poetry reveals.
