Here you will find a range of words that are incredibly varied: they are written from inspiration of what I have encountered so far, and so if you would like to see poems that are relevant TO YOU then you need to arrange an encounter, don't you!
(That's a roundabout way of saying that I can do commissions)
I am able to feel the energy and the inspiration behind an event, a picture, a person - anything - and turn it into words. I do not need a long explanation: I just need a few moments, and the inspiration to write the words arrives.
My writing style changed recently - or, more specifically, on the 23rd July 2007, I decided to write poems that would be more of an inspiration and encouragement to others. Over the next four days I wrote more poems than I'd written in the previous fifteen years of my life.
Prior to this simple decision, my work was "reflections" - or "viewpoints" of people, events (fictional or real) and situations - passive observations, if you will. Some of them actually quite good ones, I am told! After this simple decision comes work that is funny, beautiful, "wow", empathic, cathartic, ironic - all the kinds of things that, well... exactly what I asked for: inspire and encourage others!
But almost all of my works are written "through" me: I can honestly say that I do not "get involved" with the words. Yes I can make use of poetic techniques, but I very rarely "force" a poem into a particular form: they just happen.
Poetry through me isn't so much "art" to "be appreciated" (which usually means it gets "collected" or sits on a shelf collecting dust) it's a form of healing, it's something to laugh about and to live through, by, and with.
