I am 51 years old and have spent more that 35 years working my *bunny* off. I have never done anything even remotely artisitc or creative except play a little self-taught G-C-D guitar. I would love to learn to write poetry that someone would actually read and appreciate. Right now, I am trying my hand at haiku as it is relatively simple at least in form. I have also started writing and posting a little free verse as rhyming is really not my thing.

I am a serious family man with a great wife that I love very much and 3 great kids and 3 wonderful grandkids. But, I daydream at times of living a more bohemian existence, writing poetry and just being a free spirit. Not to the exclusion of my family, but more from the way I mentally approach things.

For now, I am enjoying participating in the Advanced Haiku class and hope to be a graduate. I chose the username "poetrynovice" because that is what I am. Any advice anyone can give, please feel free to do so.

Regards
