PoetrandyShow poetry

'poetrandy' has written poems for fifty years, but a few years ago got more serious about it, writing hundreds of poems, of many different forms including some experimental poetry that even rhymed. He tries to read his poetry every Wednesday in Tehachapi at Mama Hillibeans Coffee Shop: http://www.mamahillybeans.com He has also read his poetry at Rancho Mirage, Bakersfield, CA and on a Royal Caribbean Mexico cruise. His poetry has been published in the Bear Valley Springs "Cub" and is available on numerous Web pages and blogs. If you go to Google and type in "poetrandy" and you will find hundreds of links to his poetry! 'poetrandy' is now working on his next poetry collection. 'poetrandy' has finished his first chapbook, entitled Bear’s Lair, now available to purchase or read (at no cost) at: http://www.bookemon.com/book_profile.php?book_id=4572. Thank you all for visiting this site and looking over my first poetry collection -- Sorry you can't print it out, but you could always buy a copy -- if you like my work?

I will be starting radiation therapy for lung cancer in the next few weeks. It will run six weeks or so and will be administered five days a week! What a lot of trouble and travel! I have started writing again, as you can see below! I'm hoping to write even more poetry, soon. Thank you all for your prayers, hope and concern! One of these days I will get back to finishing the other two poetry collections. Maybe I can finish these this summer during or after the radiation treatments!

To preview some of my tastes in poetry, compare these two:

(1) "Fog" by Carl Sandburg

THE FOG comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches,
then moves on.

(2) "Silence is an Owl" by poetrandy

                                         SILENCE is a great
                                         horned owl on a hunt.

                                         Its deadly talons
                                         on a branch, eyes
                                         watching for prey,
                                         then flies away.
