"If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it's to deliver people from the limited ways in which they see and feel."

The Clansman

allpoetry.com/poem/1608296
On the hill above the moor
A clansman silently stands
Patience etched in every line
As his prey decides
Tall and slender, willowy and strong
Brown hair flowing in the winds song
Muscles flex, the arrow flies
The meal brought down with nary a sigh
Tartan plaid with broadsword wide
As the stars shine in your eyes
Bring forth the warrior pride
Silent strength in every stride
You pay tribute to your catch
Honor the spirit help it pass
Using only what you need
Nature’s laws heeded
You lift your eyes to the heavens
Watching for guidance there
Wanting to know if there is more
Wishing you could leap and go
On the hill above the moor
A clansman silently stands
Patience etched in every line

Deep thoughts woven, words entwined
So many layers, or not
How much more for us to find
Deep thought woven, words entwined
Exquisite crafting by a poetic mind
Not left in a gutter to rot
Deep thoughts woven, words entwined
So many layers, or not
Thank you Susan. This was very kind.

I competed in a bardic competition last weekend.
Dramatic piece - Juliet's Last Words.
The poem was a variation on an acrostic. I used Juliet's last words as the last word on each line.
