Seven-year-old scraps of poetry-- Like I knew a goddamn thing back then....
-
Didn't know it was like this.
Forgot the twist of innards, the rushing blood
-
-
-
"'Tis time to seek my fortune!"
Was my very thought,
-
What the use anyway? What difference can it make?
Hearts can only break.
-
A woman searches, longs for love for we Are taught to live with pious purity,
-
A fever, ‘tis, that takes over me— A folly now doth swallow me, until
-
A raven screeches with the death bell,
Head cocked, perched above the dead.
-
The waves are crashing, rolling round:
A sea of breaking hearts.
-
Look at us--mismatched and motley,
Denied and denying the divinest dream.
-
One current carries both outcasts of feather,
Betwixt mountain craigs, over feilds of heather.
-
Untruths swarm around unguarded ears,
To feed on secret guilts, encouraging fears.
-
I want to take the blame,
So I can call you up and say I'm sorry
-
The dove has left the cage,
And the raven has no song.
-
-
A plague that strikes even the strongest,
If it doesn't kill, it will last the longest.
-
Your tongue sketches on my skin, visions of your pain--
The dark drops of loneliness, pelting you like rain.
-
One more news story, little boy lies dead--
The growing number never meant a thing
-
delineate the footprints
Layered in the dust
-
-
You're ascending the staircase,
One step at a time,
-
-
Tired and weary, I reached the end of my Path,
And there stood a crooked man leaning on a crooked staff.
-
Life's a battle.
I'm finally charging onto the Field.
-
-
It's sick and twisted that past memories, get me on my way.
I'm not livin' for the future, I'm dyin' for old days.
-
And red's the only color that matters--the color of this car.
Surrounding me, reminding me, that we have fallen so far.
-
-
Maybe if you saw me, when I was alone and weak
You'd finally find some words, that you could openly speak.
-
You saw what I was hiding,
In the vague shadows of my words,
-
I began to regret destroying,
What you so unselfishly gave,
-
-
People asked me
'Do you love him?'
