Circumstances render me useless
As my knees cushion the impact of -
Kneeling aside my precious son,
A blessed child the age of three, -
Whisper gentle dreamer
Of your midnight visions -
"We are prepared for any evil,
Whatever terror passes our gates. -
Tremors wrack these flesh walls
Bones liquify under the ferocity -

With its arms splayed out under -
The woods are my playground,
Filled with snow drifts galore. -
The scenes outside your empty room
Have dimmed, lost all their luster -
Oh, what in this world can compensate
For a loss so disastrous and monumentally great -
You know I will not tarry
In providing entertainment -
Pacing in my laboratory
Running fingers through lanky hair -
Supernovas have come to collect
Another star has lived, then gone
