The full moon mourns the tragic loss of his child,
And I grieve with him, for the lost life of a true hero, -
A massive wave of water becomes visible on the skyline,
Drawing up to its full height in the midst of the havoc, -
Unknowing animals cringe, terrified,
At the mere sight of the dominant humanity, -
And she, an innocent, pleasant, and kind- hearted girl,
As much, a beautiful rose as anyone else… -
Omission of food and meals,
Will land you nowhere but in strife… -
She wriggled her little pink nose,
And her long whiskers twitched, alerted, -
How much blood has been spilt,
Shed onto our world’s once untainted soils, -
The imprecise foundations supporting my life have given in at last,
No longer able to tolerate the burden of my unstable problems. -
Wandering the Somalian Sahara,
Desperately trying to reunite with my family, -
I lie in a secluded corner of the overcast ward,
On the bed that I've known more than half my life, -
A threatening drought lingers hauntingly over this land,
God's punishment sent forth to ease the sin of man. -
Under the gaze of the shimmering sliver of moon,
A slightly crouched, aging figure hobbles towards me, -
All hopes of restoring an ordinary life have diminished,
Melted away like snow on spring's advent.
