Letting the world drift away as she fades into the void. -
A forsaken ember burns among the ashes
A lonely remembrance of a once passionate fire. -
An impulsive love flourishes between the two;

The fire that burns within torments the inner soul.

With one look my face twists in disgust,
My teeth clench and my temper boils. -
My heart is held in an iron grip,
Vengeful fingers squeeze tightly. -
The sun sheds brilliant rays of warmth upon the desolate earth beneath.
As a sponge to water, the earth does absorb the generated heat. -
Wondrous adoration pouring from within,
The droplets of love shining incandescent -
Back in the shadows, hiding her feelings.
Her world is turned upside down, continuously reeling. -
They sit in the back, arms wrapped around each other, soft whispers issuing from their lips.

I just want to lie beside him
and let all my troubles drift away. -
I have so many questions
But no one can answer -
He sits there, smug, talking to his girlfriend, paying me no heed.
He never does. -
To love it to throw off the blanket of protection
and suffer the biting of the wind, the harshness of the world. -
What to do in these days of trial and error.
Experiences build up, lessons learned. -
Blood wells up under the skin
Yearning to burst through -
Scratches score the arm
Remnants of a sharpened blade -
A knife scores the skin
Leaving red welts on the tender flesh -
Why am I doing this?
What if it doesn't work out? -
I stand here on the earth continually being tormented by the idea of love.
There is no way for me to know what love is, what it feels lik -
Long nights spent in close proximity
Stroking hands, caressing skin -
A drop of water rests on a blade of grass,
sparkling in the sun's rays. -
We have so much in common, we get along so well.
Yet he stands beside another girl, with his arms wrapped tightly. -
My eyes are closed tight,
Preventing my tears from escaping. -
You told me you loved me,
And I was swept up in your emotions. -
Eyes filled with contempt, lips raised in a snarl, she glowers at him.
Sitting across the room he pretends to ignore her deathly stare, -
My head pounds with the injustice that issued from the hand of the Devil himself.
Words were thrown from fiery mouths. -
The burden was lifted away; dealt with, but never forgotten. He had been her first love, but circumstances lead to the decision to part ways. Here a new path has been forged and there it leads on, inviting and exciting.

I want to jump out of my skin,
to be set free from these limitations. -
Burn, yearn to break free
Thrive strive to calm this tempest
