-
We did not come apart as I stood,
Something of you clung to me -
-
A moth, plain and dowdy,
rowdy wings -
Stillness hangs with a bottom lip
In warmth thickened air. -
I felt strong, once upon a week ago.
A fraternal embrace -
The hollow communion
of faith and reasoning -
Cross legged in the passenger seat
I share my sins and the guilty pleasure of dislike -
-
Disquiet rumbles
In the belly of the gathering cloud -
You created galaxies...
A magic of your own in the star spattered night -
No-one noticed the microscopic catastrophe
of a closing hoop -
This is the dawn before the day
The stillness in the air -
I let you run,
And tasted the metallic edge of it -
I saw you
And passed you by -
I was not ready for the curtain of rain
That swept from the distance -
And I have danced for too long
On the end of someone's whim -
What was that?
Nothing -
A candle starved
Turns blue -
Fooling them with my disguise
The appearance of symmetry -
Change feeds my obsession,
My nostalgia for the past -
I wish now I'd never told you,
Never pulled back the shutters -
Just because you don’t see it,
Doesn’t mean I don’t feel it.
