The cold mists crept across the frozen night,
The starlight twisting to an eerie haze, -
Adagio blood thrums lightly

The broken lyre crafted with such care,

Vision swimming with raw euphoria
That hums through every burning inch -
A silver box that's lined with velvet
Soft both in spirit and to touch -
Poison hangs heavy in the tainted air,
A sickly sweet cloud of diseased hate, -
Can you see me yet?
Keep your eyes closed, so tight -
The tantalising fresh aroma makes eyes close in bliss,</

A poem of seduction
-
Shattered fragments of broken glass,
So many fractures, a lifetime of breaks, -
Glazed ice skin that grows so numb,
Shivers of revulsion suppressed too deep, -
All that is gold does not glitter,
But lays safely hidden, buried deep, -
Forbidden love that burns so raw
That pleasure burns as exquisite pain, -
Youth's beauty marks the angel's face,
Yet he watches all with ancient eyes -
He watched the youth from across the room,
And knew at once that his heart was lost, -
Black velvet night swallows my pleas,
Yet still he hears the raw, strained lust, -

Sitting in the well worn chair,
He stares intently into smoke and flame, -
The tranquil silence of the sky,
Is broken by the harp's sweet sigh, -
The bottle rolling in her hands,The cold caress and threat of glass,No one sees, or understands,How bit

It all comes down to fear in the end.A cold, numbing fear that grips at you inside, Right up in your throat

Another step, another day,
The mortal coil? Or soul's decay? -
This isn't a poem, but in fact a 'slash' fanfic for Lord of the Rings. Adults only :-)

Some people think it must feel cold,
To see the very essence of life escape its shell, -
The only thing I could not bear,
Is to lose your love, a love so rare. -
These lyrics would be accompanied by a simple acoustic guitar and an acoustic bass to thicken the texture. The sentiment is simple, but heartfelt to me, and som
