Sun, a startling star so bright
Twinkles in golden everyday light. -

Beat my face as I grinned. -
Woven through pain, misted by fear,
Now aching fingers make a quilt of patchwork. -
Dancing in the air,
Skating on my breath, -
Painted red leaves litter the damp autumn ground,
Glossy, crimson, ever so smooth to touch. -

Boredom through and through. -
Blue sky fading away into the red glow of sunset,
