rooted deep
in mud
lotus stretches
toward sky
traversing water
seeking light
perfect
even as seed
even as mud is
perfect
yet fulfilled
when petals open
to announce:

Isn't wonderful when someone inspires you to create a beauty also. What a better compliment to give another poet than to know they inspired you. With a beautiful poem just like the lotus petals unfolding to such a inspiring blossom. You have revealed such a sweet beauty of nature.

aha, just read your authors comments. I was puzzled because I had read a poem like this from Maatkara. Very nice work. I really enjoyed this, and would never have even thought about the Lotus before!

This is a lovely picture. I smiled at "even as mud is perfect" and I grinned at "to announce: LOTUS". Just describing the lotus as it is, is a perfect metaphor, no explanation or embellishment is needed. Your words are concise.
Maatkara is wonderful, I agree.
