Have You Dreams?

Verse  1

Are there dreams and life behind your eyes
Is there boldness in your heart
Are you someone with demanding goals
Have you treasures to impart

Chorus  1

Or just another soul without a spark
Nothing to behold from yourself
Just a common fool with no useful aim
A spirit dead with no wealth
With no wealth

Verse  2

Yet in your eyes I see desire to give
And a strength inside you to power
You to grander things than you think you'll find
Your time is now, it's your hour

Chorus  1

Or are you just another soul without a spark
Nothing to behold from yourself
Just a common fool with no useful aim
A spirit dead with no wealth
With no wealth

Chorus  2

Be more than that
Demand your place
With the strength you have
In God's embrace
A child of power
With a world to change
Not a thing to lose
But so much to gain
Be all you are
Be all you are

Yes this seems like it could make a good song indeed.
some lines were powerfully simplistic, others were less powerful and could use a bit of a backbone. but overall quite a good piece

  • Dreams are the most beautiful things we have.I like the flow.Nice thought and amazing background.

It isn't always the case that they do not have a dream but that they have no vision to fulfill that dream. They do not want to step out of their comfort zone and reach for the stars.Very good lyrics with a strong message, Ros

Thanks for reading and commenting. True. Lacking vision would hold them back. Determination holds me back. I don't have enough drive. There is tremendous competition in the arts. Most of us settle for a small piece instead of going for the whole pie.

I really like these lyrics, they are very pretty. Do you play guitar or another instrument? I was just wondering because I play guitar, and I like learning to play music that other people write because I like learning different styles.

Thanks for reading and commenting. You can hear this song at the link in the author's comments. James Howard did all the instrumentation to this song and recorded it. I sang the vocal. I am a miserable guitar and keyboard player. I don't practice near enough. Check out the song. I would love it if you want to play it.

    Very Inspiring and Uplifting!!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. I also listened to the song and enjoyed it immensely. It was a really nice thing to do. To write for someone with no dream. I cannot imagine one like that. You have expressed yourself wonderfully well. These lines were my favorite"et in your eyes I see desire to give
And a strength inside you to power
You to grander things than you think you'll find
Your time is now, it's your hour"

Absolutely beautiful lyrics here! They sing loudly with a grace that will be able to touch any soul that may stumble along this piece like I did. Such uplifting words to remind us about what and who we can really be. It seems like a person always wants more, but we still settle for less in the long run in most cases. These lyrics do a great job at relighting a fire of hope that may have burned out long ago. Very nice.

I hold a deep admiration for those who can write song lyrics. I tried myself, once, and found that I do, in fact, suck. So I'll stick to poetry and random short stories, but I hope that you will continue to write deep and meaningful lyrics such as these. This is beautiful, and inspiring, and if I weren't out of applauses and points (I have zero ) I would definitely applaud.
