Shadows Set With The Sun

I chase the footsteps of solid figures
entertaining a life one step behind
One step behind a living being
but the path i take it does not breathe
it merely exists.

If this is existence
will someone help me out of it?
But who could help a shadow
who wishes to go unseen?

A shadow fills the void in a once loved heart
what was crimson now turned black
what was breathing now ceases to exist
I set with the sun
I set with the new year.

I've danced with many shadows
I've danced with a dark one
darker than all the rest
But every dance
will have its end.

The sun is going down
while a beat skips in my heart
soon I disappear
I cannot see in the dark
but I have found a place
where fear does not linger.

    great poem you did a awesome job I like this very much ,
    I never thought of a shadow in this way befor but it makes one think great job SAMIAM52

    a 'shadow' lives as an immortal. it never dies, only disappears when it needs to hide or get away. shadows compliment everyday living. without them there could never be peace like that of the shade. most people fear of shadows for they don't know the tranquility that lies within. the 'shadow' is a gift to the DARKness where it can rest within itz confines. the daylight needs the 'shadow' like the DARKness. every time zone requires itz shadow! you are no exception. i see the 'shadow' is back in true form. thank you for entering the contest, DARK.
