Inky and the Rose Fairy

Missing image
Achoo! The pollen tickled Inky's nose.
Then he heard a giggle,it came from a pale pink rose.
A little face appeared and said"what a funny sight.
If the elves could see you now, you'd give them such a fright."
Inky shook his head, gold pollen flew all around
Then he stopped to listen:what was that other sound?
It was a robin redbreast, who sat upon a bough:
"Now the pollen's left your face, you look much better now.
Owl awoke from slumber, stretched his wings and said,
"Do you have to make so much noise?you made me leave my bed":
Inky's great blue eyes opened very wide:
"I've never seen these things before,I was always locked inside".
Owl scratched his head and said"ah! you're the little one
That fairies rescued from the land where never shines the sun."
Inky looked around, such wonders were in site:
Coloured flowers of every hue bathed in a golden light.
The fairy of the rose took Inky's paw in hand,
"Come with me and you'll see this is fairy land"
A little elf reading a book on a toadstool sat,
Dressed in green and, on his head a red and gold belled hat.
"Look" said the fairy",that's the fairy King.
And over there the fairy choir, listen how they sing":
Inky was very tired"I'm hungry" they heard him say.
"I think I will now go home and return another day"

This garnered 38 kisses in its first read at the Mother Goose Hour group.
It was read in a finals round on Monday night to a group of 77 children where it was bestowed an additional 60 kisses! Well done!

I am so serious. If you find a talented artist to illustrate inky and put only two lines per page, this could really work. And i'd buy it for my children. I wonder how much shipping would be from italy to american.hmmm.

    Great

Aww...I like Inky...he's just so...innocent, shall we say? Cute. It was absolutely perfectly created. I so love this Inky character you have here...when does he meet up with the wizard, I wonder? Ah, perhaps I am reading them out of turn...ah well, no big deal. Where exactly is Inky going in way of his "home?" He isn't thinking of returning to that witch creature is he? I should hope not. I love this story-poem like thing you have here...makes my attempt at such look absolutely horrid (no big deal, because I like just writting regularly anyway) Off to the third one now! Tally-hoe!
