Masquerade

It wasn't my plan this woman I found,
Now I'll not let this rest 'til I'm tied and bound.
You could easily take my essence away,
With one drip of some wax, I know you would stay.

There would be no resistance unless it was thee,
My fight was won when you spoke to me.
And now you are pleasing and teasing about,
Our displays of affection are drawing a crowd.

Let us take this request that we both seem to ask,
And put it to bed, I can wear a mask.
Soon you will see a tragedy.
But when my disguise is revealed you'll be in ecstasy.

You may think it a deception, an untruth, a lie.
It was not a mirage, or a fantasy to deny.
When you are hungry you eat, it's perfectly normal.
Next time you are invited, don't be so formal.

this is wonderfully cute and teasing. Though not a sonnet I have no doubt that the bard spoke in this manner ... thanks for entering I.
