A Soul Inspired (a Riddle)

I am motivation,
a commitment to life --
Music, Poetry, and Drama at their best.
Colors and mood making one yearn
For peace, love, and virtuous truth.
My earthly existence may be traced,
But no one knows how my spirits inspire.
Some say I'm clever, keen, the soul revived,
Unbridled energy, mad passion, pain, and pleasure.
Through the centuries I rise and drift
To the places that least expect me.

Author notes

This was put up on 12-31-04, and was before i began establishing a precedent, i.e., rule.  I had to request that people not include answers in comments because i received many complaints about people accidently seeing the answers.  Then people were sending me answers via messaging and leaving no comments , and that wasn't to my liking because comments inspire me , and make me write more. So, now I hope that a happy balance has been made.  Best of Luck and thanks for your interest, avi

Don't worry about it, we're all close friends...we just get a bit...competitive...at times, especially considering all of us are smart people and none of us are fond of admiting defeat...(evn though they know i am)

Hey, this is a noncontact sport, so chill OMJ and UBs. We may have to make a new rule, and I hate rules so "pulease" don't make me do it. Peace to all, and let's get back to the real issues here. Best Regards, David

You only helped with ONE!!! ONE!! And we we're really close on it too it wasn't our fault you we're sitting right there... So anyways, ONE isnt A FEW. So nah. An we shall conquer.

hmmm...hello Avi/David...I am a friend of the Ubs (primarily Uba but Ubi too) and although normally I let them take care of answering your riddles I've helped them get a few answers...so yeah...I'm here 2 try and crack the uncrackable nut

False alarm for anyone reading my previous comment... we didn't get the answer for this one yet. Note the YET. That means we will. And we're not exactly the type to give up on things, so the answer will become a reality and soon.

Oh, and David, don't feel bad that no one has solved this yet, just proves it's obvious superiority to our simpleton minds. Commendable work!

Hi again, Carl, and thanks again too! I see you are really engaged at trying to solve them. That's good and i am going to put a new one up and dedicate it to you, as well as one to Touchof1der. Peace and best wishes, David

Hi John, thanks for your visit. You are extremely close, and i am sorry about not getting back to you sooner, but i had no idea that you even were here and guessed! I just found out now while answering Carl Malone. As far as it being a clever way to get people to read my work, i had no idea and have written many of these in '99. I began writing them while teaching in Prison, and i explain part of that in a response underneath Speak Without Sound. Touchof1der is really responsible for all the attention and "Buzz." Thanks again, David

This one really throws me. I am copying these to roll over in my mind while I'm at work. I don't want to waste my time with the ones that are solved. Looks like I have two now.

I'm guessing it is a muse, but I just don't know. Maybe that's too simple an answer to be right. But nonetheless, this is a very inventive way to get people to read your work.

Aah the mighty Huntress, you are close, or at least inspiration is much needed (and i do mention inspire in l.7), but not quite, and the argument that this indeed does reincarnate could be made. I have two more lines that are a dead giveaway, but refuse to add them for now, and may not anyway because i like it better without. Thanks and great to hear from you. peace

Thanks MargaretG for the comment and compliment about vocabulary; I have to be honest and say that whatever seems impressive is really not because I am always looking up simple words because my memory is horrible. It's always difficult but worthwhile when someone like you comes along and says just what you did. Thanks again, peace!

This has great flow and energy, and your title is very descriptive, even if it is not the answer! I always love the word "yearn", and in general I think your vocabulary is of a high order. I'm glad to make your acquaintance. Happy New Year!
