Crucified,

Lord you suffered on the cross that day,
showing no pain for their brutality,
your blood was shed for all man's sin,
yet you forgave them for their hostility.

Your passionate love forgave them all,
as they released their cruel transgression,
crucified for speaking God's words,
shouts of death were their only obsession.

The Lamb of God was nailed to the cross,
to show God's words were only a mockery,
sacrificed to forgive man's wickedness,
the end of God's spoken words was not to be.

The skies were colored ebony that day,
as God's only son spoke His final word,
it was the beginning of His eternal life,
rising from the dead not a sound was heard.

The Day of the Lord is on the horizon,
as your disciples we await your return,
my passion for You Jesus is overwhelming,
teach me dear Lord I have so much to learn.

I finally realized Jesus died  for me that day,
His death took away all of my life long sin,
last year I gave my life over to Jesus,
so my new life with Jesus Christ could begin.

This is really beautiful. So far, this contest is off to a great start. I really liked this poem a lot. I saw the Passion and I balled through out the whole movie. Without a lot of talk, it defently (i cant spell), it sent a message through. Great job.

very nice, I am afraid to watch the movie, because everytime I read or hear about the death of Christ I cry, I'm not sure I can handle it.

I like the closing thoughts here Sandy for this really does leave a lot to think about. It’s like us there, but Jesus in our place, and taking the brunt of for all our wrongs, I know there’s an endless limit of reflections in this. Makes a reader reflect deeply does this one.

    Most inspiring, very spiritual

A beautiful inspiring poem once again Sandy, The Passion was more than I could handle, it was as if being right there...and the last stanza was just lovely, right from your heart! All the best in the contest dear one, it's lovely... Ann
