Will you be the one?
The one that I have waited for?
Broken in so many ways,
Can you rescue me from all that I have become?
Fearing this so, and desperately wanting to change.
Loathing the time I have spent trapped inside this glass castle.
From my window I gaze across our estate,
Dreaming of a day when I would no longer be held behind its gates.
Will you be the one?
The one who will break through all of the indifference?
Behind curtains of silk and lace, destined to remain locked away.
In a castle made of glass,
Meant to be my sanctuary,
An escape from the eyes of society.
If you look more closely you will see that it has always been a fortress.
Keeping out everything that is good, leaving only its darkness,
Here inside these walls, I am frightened, feeling so suffocated.
I remember when this used to be, a paradise in which to retreat.
From the everyday monotony,
Never did I imagine that I would soon be consumed by its destruction.
Truly creating a life all its own,
It keeps me here; in the dark…
I fear that I am not alone.
