Who Am I To Try...?

Who am I to even try,
I can't replace her and I'm not trying to,
but what makes me think
that you could ever love me too?

I'm glad you still remember her,
and I'm glad you keep her in your memories,
it just proves how much you loved her,
I think it just pains me,
to know...

If she were alive,
you wouldn't be mine.

You're still caught up in her,
am I just...there?

Please tell me if it's real at all,
because these tears sting,
all I need to hear is the truth.

You're still in love,
and lets face it...
I can't compete.

Author notes

its self explanitory... just..thoughts really, not a poem..just...how I feel....

How very sad. I've felt like that before as well. Not quite to that degree, but I understand where you're coming from. I am so sorry this is happening to you. It's almost like his cheating on you, I think. As this was only thoughts and not a poem, I'm not going to critique. I'll just say that you expressed yourself well. Good job.

a tricky situation... a nice peice here though. most of my poems are thoughts too, its a relief when they can be organized into thoughts, eh?
he has to accept the fact/idea that is old love is gone, and if he cant, to say it bluntly, its his problem. if he's too caught up in someone who is already gone that it's making you feel like he doesnt care for you, talk to him. what you interpret as still being in love with her might just be his way with coping with her death. that's why you need to talk to him (if you havent already.)
no one will ever know what youre really thinking if you dont tell them yourself.
    love love,
    sabrina

different format, like you said just thoughts, not bad though, this does happen alot. Especially since it's so bloody easy to glorify the dead or gone. Hard dicision, I'm no help though, I don't do "love" at the moment, in any form. Don't have the time. Well good to see you, metephorically speaking. I'll have to read some more later.
