I Think Of You

Missing image
~by Gregg Rowe~

As I go out and greet my friends
With a year that is about to end
I think of all you anonymous writers
That made my days -- oh so brighter

You know exactly who you are
So very near and yet so very far
But where ever you may be
A wish I send to place upon your tree

That through your golden hearts of love
Tonight we set free a white dove
And in the morning I open my curtains to see
The world in all its unity

Thank you for all the support in the past year
Through our laughter and our tears
You kept me writing throughout my fears
And dear friends, lent me your ears.

    Really wonderful to write a christmas wish and thank you for your friends here. Loved the pic you used - I do not know lots of people here yet but I do get a sense of family. Great to read this.

    Oh My Goodness, what a touching and heart warming write.
    I can relate to what you say, have only been a member of this site for a little over a month and have met some fantastic caring people, have read words that truly touched my heart and have had some just lend their ears.
    You expressed AP friendship beautifully.
    Merry Christmas!

    to all poetic waxers who burnt candles at both ends and left a trail of drippings that I could follow to enlightenment I thank you for making a sometimes dark world cheery and an often cheery world dark, for one must know both sides to understand which paths to try as life carries them on a journey to the final light that we all must follow or face darkness evermore....Artis

    Reading your poem reminded me that you had not heard from me, and that often I had meant to reply or to initiate, only to miss again. If it's any consolation, I have thought of you and wished you well at least cinquante fois more often than in the past months I have written. I am relieved that so many others did. And now as we all approach the new year, a year of smiles, and some hearty laughs too, it is with prayers for better years that this is sent. --Dee

    I wish that I could send you a little poem that I wrote, or say the words I'd like to say about this piece, but I have found myself at a loss for words. Just always remember that it is you dear man who keeps on giving us here the eloquence of you. Jacki

    Dear Gregg,
    ~~~
    I s'pose that now it's Christmas time
    it's good to greet your friends in rhyme
    but, leave aside the if's and but's,
    a lot of us are slightly nuts!
    ~~~
    So let all of us nutty poets
    combine in verse to vent our feeling
    because, some of us, if you know it
    will, in a while, be really reeling.
    ~~~
    Now, while I'm upright still and clear,
    before my speech gets slurred and cruddy,
    I wish you all HAPPY NEW YEAR
    and speshly Gregg, to YOU, my buddy!
    ~~~
    All the best to you mate! Hugh.
