Day by Day

Day by day, I surprise myself
with all that I am capable of.
I may never change the world, but I don’t care.
If everything were to come crashing down,
it will have been so much fun!
I know that sometimes I may seem quiet or like I don’t care at all.
That may be true, I'll continue to let you wonder while I move on.
Even if I fall, I have already won.
Having left with my dignity in tact,
I have no regrets,
You succeeded only in hurting my feelings
Made me question what I was thinking,
Day by day, my life is a little better.
I love the place that I am in, waited around for so long,
Where has this all been?
I won’t apologize for anything I do.
If you don't like it, thats fine.
I'll be glad to do it all again, just for you.
I considered all that you had to say
I hope you’ll be able to hear me when I tell you
that I really don’t care what you think.
Before you say anything,
let me say, how much I’ve enjoyed failing this test
Destroying the list you had written out in your head.
Day by day, everything around me is on the verge of change,
Driving down ninety on my way to something crazy.
The last thing your going to see are my lights, a blur of white,
the engine roars as I pass you by!

Author notes

This is about a guy who was a real jerk to me, I had a lot of fun writing this one.

this is reality in a poem
we all make ideas and'lists' in our heads of how we think our loved one is and how he should be
but you showed your true colors and i guess he didnt like that
