I'll still just as mad at this Haiku finishing second! I shall have a little talk with miss smarty britches!

I still think I should have been included in with the ladies too!

    wonderful

Once again all of them excellent and once again I like the last one best. It really showed the hidden depth of the poet you were writing about.

    excellent.

Dear Yem, please calm yourself. Andrew's 'ku about the monk was wonderful, and that is no comment on you or me.
Thanks for the applause - duct tape is fantastic.

I'm as mad as hell! This won the silver prize in Mariza's contest--so basically she's saying I'm inferior as a subject! Why I have a good mind (make believe I do) to tell her just where to go!!!!!!!!!

The antler thing is really cool--they kept falling off my head however, so I secured them with duct tape.

You know what I think? (And why would you--or anyone) well I think it's the other three people you mentioned who dragged this poem down to second...

Thanks Margaret. I clicked on this not knowing that my name was in it and I got quite a shock.

WOW! These are quite well done. I like the idea for your Title and having four Haikus for what sounds like four well deserving gentlemen.

    Elegant quartet

    Dear Margaret:

What a beautiful quartet. I am once again humbled and honored. The dark soil is so apt -- one would hope it produces sweet fruit. I also love the reference to the petals, which again shows how much you understand about my favorite wildflower and the passion it represents. The other haiku are also elegant in their conrete undestatment. I am going away and reflect fo awhile on how I might rise to the honor you have bestowed.

    Peace,

    passionvine

Thank you Del, and you're welcome. This vignette was inspired by your story of cutting the Christmas tree with your father, and the grace that you bring to life.

    overwhelming

    WOW Margaret,
I am absolutely blown away by this. This is perhaps the most touching thing I have read in years and, believe me, I say so from my heart. To have been included in this wonderful group of Haiku poems is a surprise and thrill beyond words. Thank-you sooooo much and God Bless you, my dear friend.
