In Days of Olde (A Riddle)

In days of olde I was part of a note
When Rome was great and Ovid wrote.
I'm the same shaped letter small and large--
The main support of an ocean barge.
There are more than seven of me today,
So prepare my rations and be on your way.
I'm a dog, a horse, a cow, and a plane,
A clamp that holds in a hot steel rain.

Pheww.... I think I finally can get one right though with all those I had to skip I don't think I'll probably be getting just an average grade.

Haha Im getting better I worked this out before I read all the comments yay! Partly because the only letter I could think of small or large that was the same shape was C. LOL (Okay I lied I actually wrote the alpahabet on a peice of paper to figure it out) How silly when all I had to do was read the comments, but the rest of the clues helped me make more sense of it! This was really clever! You're good at this! How do you come up with these! Great JOb! ~QueenT~

Alrighty, I am going back through every single one of your riddles, just to make sure we havent missed any, and to post comments, because I personally love getting comments, and it's not fair of us to IM you messages and not leave comments that tell the world how much we like your riddles, so uhm... yeah. Enough with the excuses about why I'm commenting, and onto the actual commenting.

Hmm... I liked this one, particularly because I remember what we were doing when we solved it, and it's a fun memory, and because you used two different aspects of the answer, and thats what made it a bit of a tough solve, the clues were describing two different things with the same name. Great work!

I've still got no clue on what it could be. And I think you gave as many hints as you possibly could. Wow. This is hard but I've never been good at riddles to begin with.

    peace and love

    excellent

Is it a 'V'? Otherwise I dont know. But I like the poem itself. Poem, riddle, whatever. Both? The rhyme was so cute. I just dont know what in the world it could be. But I guessed.

    peace and love
