Ashes of roses.....
Ashes to ashes
filtered dust remains
scattered to the four winds

Freeing a wild spirit
that was suppressed
by discipline and loathing
ever rebellious

Riotous flame hair
and green emerald eyes
ever dancing in their
wickedness

And forever that fragrance
lingers....drifts on the
four winds to remind...

......Ashes of Roses...........

Beautiful. This is the way people should be remembered. Hemingway wrote, "This world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are stronger in the broken places." But there are also those who cannot be tamed by this world and who refuse to be broken. The only option left for them is to leave it.

You are...well, talented. You made a well-written piece feel that much more with the emotion you place inside, wrapped for all to see. Although poetry truly can't be judged good or bad, I have to say that all your poetry, especially this one, qualify on the good side. Keep it up.

    Beautiful

I'd let you write my epitaph anyday.
    Great job.
Strong images pulled me in, enfolded me in both love and saddness and then allowed me to go without remorse.
    Nicely done.
    Be well;
    Zaffen

What a nice rememberance..."Riotous flame hair and emerald green eyes" paints such a pretty picture of an auburned haired beauty...I do like the way Ashes of roses is repeated throughout the piece...Beautifully written.

this was a nice piece ^_^ esp. the way it opened and closed with the same line... and there were not many words, but they managed to convey a strong image - that's very good.
