Dad

Only inspiration from father
The one who knew all
But expressed in a language not understood
Just by facial description all minds would run free
He danced each word on the page
Listing all his sadness and fearful days
never shed a tear
Because of the only bandage
Poetry

very interesting piece...Poetry indeed can be the only bandage but it's more than enough. Some days poetry was the only thing that kept me going and if you see someone go on just thanks to poetry, it can be really inspiring. great write.

Incredibly simple piece , but it reflects your depth of feeling. I like the ending here. Amplifies the emotion.

Good Luck and thanks for entering.

    Beautiful

I liked this! Such depth of emotion in a few words, but then I always admire economy of words in a poem. Ah, you made me think back to my dad who died about 5 years ago. He never wrote poetry, but he was a living, walking inspiration to me as well. I can so relate to your words "facial description all minds would run free" - that is exactly my thoughts too! Such a wonderful priviledge to remember and honour a dad like this. A beautiful poem! Good luck to you in the contest....my mind is wandering back in time here...!
