A dove is symbolic to peace and Gods love,
dreaming of one means happiness is at hand.
Give all of Katie's needs to the sweet Lord,
don't rely strongly on the touch of mere man.
The purity and innocence of little Katie,
is forever embossed upon Gods heart.
Your faith and trust will find its reward,
within the healing that our Lord imparts.
Through weariness and all your fear,
seek His face to draw strength from him.
Don't look around at the circumstance,
for what you see may be scary and grim.
Softly kiss your Katie's sweet cheek,
smiling jovially just for her.
She'll be able to sense your confidence,
in turn she'll feel loved and safely secure.
Together with family, strangers and friends,
we'll meld in a massive circle of prayer.
Where two or more gather in His name,
He says in His word that He will be there.

My husband retired from the AirForce in 97. IT was a strange was of life for a while. Shopping for groceries in a civilian market is so exspensive. We live close enough to a base to shop, but oft times we stop at the store in town to pick a few things up...ouch. IT sure hurts the pocket.
I wish you the best in retirement, and know you will greet the challenges that await you with strength and grace.

I have read and applauded your poem. It is so beautiful to me. Everytime I go to to comment on any of the poems, I start to cry. I sat in the back yard with Katie yesterday on the glider swing. I have five different wind chimes and we sat out there after filling up the bird feeders and changing the bird bath. The wind was strong but not cold (we are in southern TX).
I sat there with her and listened to the wind moving the chimes to whatever music it wanted to play, and listed the things I was grateful for. I sat looking at my backyard, knowing this was my last Christmas here in Texas. My husband is retiring in less than six months. He has been in the air force for 20 years. I was inspired looking out my backyard with Katie at my side, the birds singing, thanking us for the fresh food and bath, and the wind singing a special song.
With that said, I write this little bit of insight for all of you. May you all have a blessed holiday.

Sam;
Latest Update:
Received from MagicLady(12/18/2004 8:01:18 AM): Katie is home now. I will try to get on line in the next day or two and read the entries from the contest you said you had for me. I know it will give me strength but also make me cry. Right now I need to be with my whole family at home. We will wait to hear if Katie can have the surgery. Dr's should let us know in the next few days... but then the decision is ours as to if she has it or not. I think my biggest fear is that she CANNOT have the surgery, and then we have no choice at all. Keep praying. -
How absolutely beautiful and true this is. With prayers and beliefs such as these, I know within my heart of hearts that Katie will fare very well. You are a Master Samplette, never forget that. In the word "inspiration" lives an inspiring spirt. You have that spirited glow and love for your fellow am, woman and child. This is assuring and generous. God bless you for your willingness to ask God to bless others.
Much Love,
Renee

Beautifully written, Sam, you have said the truth about faith and the confidence we have in the healing touch of God. Our own faith, and rejecting fear, are so important in the sickroom, because children look to moms for what to believe. You end the poem with just what we need.

Oh Sam, this is wonderful! Full of wisdom and goodness. It is true that looking to God helps us see past this material world. You have put it perfectly and this is a reminder to all that read it to look to Him for our answers. I love that last stanza most of all. This poem is a true blessing.

You have already gathered a few in prayer for Katie and I am sure there will be more to come. This really reminds us what is important in life and where we need to go when troubles hit. I agree that we weigh too much on man, all miracles come from God. I read the contest and I will keep Katie in my prayers as well.

Beautifully written BRAVO right from the hear
Sam,
What a beautiful write. Your loving words can be felt and I am sure they reached Cheryl's heart and soul and spread through to Katie's. The magic of God's grace soothes the body and mind. Our prayers will be answered and she will be well. What beauty you bring to the eye. I loved the images, Sam. I have entered this contest too, if you would like to drop by (before tomorrow as the image will soon disappear but I have the link to it so it'll be okay). Love you lots.

Dear Sam,
Although I don't know Katie or her mother, Cheryl, that will not deter me from praying for them which I have done immediately after reading Kimberly's introduction to this contest. We should pray at this time for all who are sick in hospitals around the world.
Your poem says it all and I applaud your writing.
Good luck in the contest. Happy Christmas.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh.
