Summer Sighs

Missing image
I love the way your summer dress
folds into your thighs
the backlit sunlight streaming through
betrays its thin disguise

Your hair imbued with fields of wheat
rains soft upon your skin
a hint of high beams penetrate
revealing shapes within

Coquettish ways with which you stroll
like summer honey flows
your movements so magnetic
hints at gifts your heart bestows

Deep and clear your eyes of jade
implore me to commit
to venture forth in love’s domain
which begs me to submit

Your sultry voice that beckons me
is rapture to my soul
a craving that won’t be denied
compels me to extol

That loving you is all there is
my heart cannot conceal
what fills my soul up to the brim
exudes the fire I feel

I love the way your slinky dress
folds into your thighs
the backlit sunlight streaming through
creating summer sighs

    this is marvelous writing!

the opening and closing stanzas just make me
jealous with envy! I've tried to describe
this very thing in both poetry and prose, but
could never quite nail it like this.
    excellent work!

"Coquettish ways with which you stroll
    like summer honey flows
    your movements so magnetic"

    I love this!
are you watching the same woman I am? LOL

    very very good poem!!

beautifully descriptive piece of poetry...*sigh :) Has a dreamy feel...a warm feel...kinda like a summer breeze...how it just settles over ya, sensually licking your skin.

BRAVO!!! This is brilliant, and mere words could not express it. Perhaps lovely, and simply-poetic!! It flows perfectly, and just glides off the toungue!!

Brilliant stuff (yet again) Fergs...it's every sheilas dream. To have a man look at a her with such love and desire in his eyes that he'd be inspired to pen something amazing and beautiful. Your gift of poetry/song writing sometimes leaves me gobsmacked. Does this appear somewhere on your CD in a musical format? I'd love to hear it.

You have imbued this with a languid feel; a summer afternoon spent prone in fields making romantic chains. Very pretty. I feel so satisfied and relaxed now.

    hi ferg!
i enjoyed the warm tone and lust of this
~i agree that 'high beams' doesn't work...
somehow, overall it didn't grab me,
maybe partially because it comes across to me
a little bit like a recital of physical attributes...
i don't get a sense of interaction or a feeling of intimacy,
instead, what comes across to me is the oogling of a hot babe
also, i found the rhyme scheme and meter made it feel old-fashioned, but maybe that's just me...

*fanning self* my my...this is quite nicely written (but why 'high beams'? the term is too slangy, doesn't quite fit with the rest of this lovely piece)
