Your feel blessed the moment you hear,
the doctor say a baby is on the way,
your mind begins to fill with wonder,
anticipating the arrival of the blessed day.
The first few month you need lots of rest,
you feel queasy as morning sickness begins,
family and friends see the gleam in your eyes,
your joy and happiness shines from within.
The middle months you lose your waistline,
there is a little fluttering around,
it feels like butterflies in your tummy,
you can see the sex with an ultra sound.
You start decorating a room pink or blue,
you can't wait but the last months go slow,
laying in bed you feel the baby kick,
looking down you no longer see your toes.
As the big day arrive you grab you bag and go,
your husband is a wreck and drives too fast,
sitting their you wish the pain would go away,
you wonder how long will my labor last.
I won't describe the rest in detail,
just think of the joy of your baby's birth,
to behold the beauty of your newborn baby,
is one of God's miracles down here on Earth.

This made me smile Sandy! With my oldest son getting married on New Year's Eve, I've been doing a lot of reminiscing and natural my mind wanders back to the days I carried him and the day of his birth. This was such a pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing such a delight. Good luck in the contest.
