~~~The Haunted House~~~
Missing image
The gray old mansion
was a nesting place
for pigeons,
the secret doors
the domicile of spiders,
its winding staircase
decorated with cobwebs
it filled our summers
with old age
and imagination
We rang the bell
in the afternoons,
and ran,
delicious fear of game
to peek inside
dirty streaked windows
At night we'd swear
we saw a ghost
looking from the
upstairs window
that sneered until
even our shadows ran
from one another
Gone now,
decrepit splendor
and all the stories
you told us
locked inside
the doors of our
childhood imagination
Echoes of once was have
given away
to low slung concrete
But, i remember
in my dreams
I still ring the bell
and run.
(Author's Note: The figure in the right handed window is a ghost
it is supposed to be a real haunted house)
    Well that read is going to promise me NO sleep tonight. You see we have an abandoned 2 story house across the street from me. Weeds all growing up and it just creeps me out. Thanks for the nightmares sis! LOL I'm crawling in your bed tonight if the ghost comes a calling!
    Well the pic is gone...as this is a while after your origianl posting. But the write is wondeful. I remember a place like this. The place where as kids you double, triple dare to run up the porch and knock on the door! A place where as an adult, I would love to wander the rooms and inhale the musty smell of live gone by. I don't know if the ghosts would say hello to me...but I would wish them well as I left....
    Hugs my friend.. really well done.
    Oh, FE if you love Native American music, you should listen to Joanne Shenandoah and Mary Youngblood, they are GREAT!! Saw them at an Indian Arts Festival 2 yrs. ago...Joanne's latest cd, Eagle Cries, is so haunting, her vocals...
    I wrote a poem inspired by it (I forget the name of my poem) lol...but her songs are based on actual happenings...she's one of the few Native Americans I've heard sing, alot of them play flutes and drums, etc...but not alot of them sing, or in English...
    She's a really nice person, too...down to Earth. All the artists I met there were nice...Mary Youngblood plays the flute...so peaceful and relaxing...I fell asleep while sitting there outside listening. :)
    Wow very good!! I loved it! I have a great interest in the paranormal, im going to perform a experiment tonight with trying to get a EVP and also some pictures, I know this old apartments we live in are not absent of ghosts. Also it is a Indian reservation that alone brings alot of paranormal energy. I trip out on one thing with that being said about the Indian Reservation, I use the term Mother Earth alot in my writes. A bit interesting if infact some messages I get could be from a old spirit of a Native American. Also the Native American music draws me in big time now. : )
    I'm Boo, the spooky ghost,
    scaring you is what I do most
    haunting stupid mortals
    from beyond Death's portal
    I'm whiter than a sheet
    I fly, but got no arms or feet
    don't eat, 'cause I'm dead
    there's no brain in my head
    I live in old houses
    with bugs and mouses
    Casper and me are friends
    we make you pee in your Depends!
    :)
    Well, I'll be darned...if you look directly over the house, right smack in the center, there's something in a circle...which to me looks like a bird with wings or some kind of thing (ghost perhaps?) with its arm out, waving!! :) YOOHOOO!! I'm Booboo, the spooky ghost, hello all you mortals...I'm gonna haunt you...nananananna...lol
    I got an overactive imagination...must stop popping those painkillers, making me hallucinate...hahahhahhaha
    I don't see the image you're referring to...what post? But the one on the left, downstairs window...can't say if it's a soldier, as it's too dark, but appears to have a large/wide hat, like calvary type hat...so maybe it's a revolutionary hat...like redcoats...late 1700's, early 1800's is what I'm sensing...who knows...
    I'm picking up some weird vibes...and there's alot of strange things going on above the house, where the 'skeleton' is...if they're all orbs, it's freaky...but again it's hard to tell as it's dark and a black and white photo, also too far away...and much of it is blurred...you'd need a professional ghost hunter to analyze this if not already done...but WAY COOL!!! :) I'm getting chills just looking at it...I'm super sensitive to stuff like this...
    This is more than excellent! The vivid descriptions brought your thoughts to life. Did you mean 'given AWAY' or 'given WAY' in the 6th verse?
    You visited me and asked that I visit you. Here I am! I am impressed by this one and will read more of your work.
    Suggestion to people who attempt to contact the world beyond: Be careful. It's not all fun. Please be careful. We all care about each other here! : ) Karen
    My gosh girl!! This is great! Cool photo, looks like it burnt down or something...But don't EVER freak me out like that...lol I see a blurred image of someone in the right window...if that's really a ghost, it is creeping me out BIG time!! So who is the one on the left? Another ghost? LOL
    I will have to dig out my 'ghost' photos from the Logan Inn, the good ones vanished, but I have some with strange 'orbs' that nobody's analyzed yet, but I'm told they may be ghosts...I'll let some of you decide...lol
    This was eerie...gave me shivers...spooky poem, got my attention! Nicely done. :)
    Oh, I don't know if you noticed this or not, but directly above the house, next to the right corner of the house (not the corner of the photo), there is an image that looks very much like a SKELETON!! Did you see it? Take a good look, I'd be curious as to what that really is. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :)
    This is great, wish I could write story like poetry....
    Check this out: Just copy and paste the address.
    This is pretty neat. Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing
    images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did some research and
    found that a lady once lived in the house who lost her husband during the
    civil war. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across
    the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He never came.
    So, they say she still waits. They caught this photo of what they claim to
    be her.
    This one was wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the
    picture. It took me a few seconds to find it, but when you do, it just
    stands out. Like one of those optical illusions.
    To save you some time, concentrate around the table. Best not to focus
    too much on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window.
    For added effect turn your volume up loud, there is a faint noise that goes along with the picture that was captured as well...
    ( My friend sent me this, enjoy!) :) :) ~ Ce ( It takes a few moments but just concentate and you will see and hear it...
