Chamomile Tea and Sleeping Pills

I just want to sleep,
To forget everything
that's wrong with me.
To sleep, to dream-
Aye, there's the rub,
as Hamlet said.
I can't love, can't be loved,
I'm thoroughly mediocre.
But who's to say that
Oblivion will come?
An endless nightmare,
No chance to awake,
Eternal torment-
Forever reliving my failures.
What dreams may come
Terrify me.
Yet another failure,
always paralyzed by my fear.
Tonight, I think
I'll take my chances.

Author notes

Don't worry about me, I'm just having a really really bad night
