Oil Scented Anger...

Sitting in the gutter,
a false reflection of faith and truth.
A horrid scented rainbow,
reflecting the sorrow of long lost youth.

A furrowed wrinkle on your brow,
gives out an aura of knowledge through age.
A youth full brightness in your eye,
shows that you hide a humbled rage.

Rage on you servant to those beyond,
push forth to lighten your selfish plight.
Huff on you bitter coward, fool,
your selfish ways'll bring no delight.

Yes, I do love the rhyming...and the horrid scented rainbow, wow this gives me a reality to the hopes and happiness the rain and sunshine supposedly brings, like a jaded understanding of city life, a homeless man. Great job.

Wonderful writing with a very bold message. It's hard enough to be yourself when you are actually trying to. Good poem. Hugs, Patricia

This is not only excellent writing but it also delivers a strong message. We can hide nothing, for in some way we reveal it to the world, even if unintentionally. Good luck in the contest!
