Dressing in December

Today, the trees stand
naked and shivering in
pools of brown and gold.

It was a nice day, but I could do with it being a degree or ten warmer. My washer and dryer are out in the shed, and I freeze my butt off every time I go out to put in another load. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Dana, apparently, our climate is supposed to be a steppe climate, which means a step above hell, blazing hot in the summer and freezing your ass off in the winter. But surprisingly today was a gorgeous day, don't you think?

Yeah, I know how those trees feel when I turn the heat up before I take a shower and still I end up freezing when I get out. When did it get so cold in the Valley, Stacy? Almost feels as cold as New York.

Great imagery. I hate haikus because you have to put so much into so little, but great job.

Le sigh...this reminds me of October in Arkansas...when the Pig Trail is lit in a firestorm of orange and gold...and your breath just catches cause you finally realize that no matter how masterful an artist is, they pale in compared to Mother Nature's artistry...thank you for reminding me of this enchanted moment that I had almost forgotten while living in the damn desert!
