Somewhere, I fear
I seem to have lost my pen.
scouring my head,
I find nothing:
all my saved words
simply are not here.
I push letters together
forming words,
giving chase to phrases
coming up short again,
with only wasted pages.
I begin to despair,
and give in to frustration
as I crumple up paper,
scribble out lines
snap pencils in half
and rip out my hair.
Somewhere, I fear
I have lost my pen
I do hope one day
to find it again.
Author notes
Writer's block is no fun. I am resorting to that sad state of writing about writers block. It could be worse, I suppose.
Ok, so I guess it's a bit of a combination of personal, humor, and some hope, snicker.

I've hit this roadblock before and I agree it's no fun when all you want to do is write and yet the words just aren't there.
keep looking for them my friend... your muse will come back!
Keep penning on one stroke at a time!

No Kidding writers block is no fun, I have had it for quite awhile now and everyone wants another part to my series to come out, oh the pressure. I liked this poem alot! It was a great way to say your muse was gone. I feel like mine ran away too
Good job Ark, It's nice to read your stuff again

I liked this poem because it speaks the truth. Sometimes you want to write a poem so badly but you just cant think. The poem doesnt flow as well as you want it to. Also the other thing I hate about writing is I'll be somewhere and a poem will come to me at the most innapropriate times. Like when I'm somewhere where I cant get ahold of a pencil and paper in time before the words leave my mind. And later when you think you could find the "perfect" words that you thought of early you cant once you have paper and pen. Great write.

well, although this is categorized as humor, i don't think it is. It's really really hard to get over writer's block, but at least you are aware of it because, well, you're a writer. people who can't write won't admit to that, anyway. you'll get over it. and I bet your next one will be very good. just
Keep writing
