Heartbeat Journal

I.  Music and rise of men.
Glory and mystery amongst the ages,
Rising in the lighter east
To catch it’s white shadow fleeing

The journal of one man
Becoming the mist of a thousand men’s breath
The heart of the living deep
Within the hopes of soldiers

The loll and swagger
Grasp the exhausted, stronger than liquor
Maddening the mind, confusion
Becoming the organized rain

II.   Bolts clatter and blood screams
In the ears of the silent
God’s anger splits the sky
And ignites the nervous forest candles

A page is turned and its blackness
Becomes a colored picture
Of once beating hearts, and
The history of the stricken mind
