Someone told him

Someone told him I’m a man

and did he defend me – No

after all he was pretending that he didn’t know me

so how could he know otherwise.

I’ll admit I’m not the most feminine women in the world

but I don’t think anyone has ever thought I’m a man.

OK so there was that time when I was 12

but I was dressed up for Halloween

and had stuck stubble to my face with eyelash glue

Tonight I was wearing a mini skirt and high heels

I’m 5’8” and curvy

just not fragile looking

“Zena” or “Amazon women”

is what several guys have called me in the past

and I’m pretty sure it was a compliment.

I was shocked

If I hadn’t had plans for the night

(with the guy who didn’t know me)

I might have felt a little insecure

Instead I laughed it off saying

“He’d better quit saying that or I’ll beat him up;

and apparently

I’ve got the balls to do it!”

Author notes

You said weird - funny

This is based on a true story.  Joe and I had been seeing each other but he wasn’t ready for a commitment.  One night we went to a club that he frequented, but I had never been too.  He didn’t want the women there to think he was in a relationship, so we pretended that we didn’t know each other very well.  Since at that point I only considered us to be friends (with fringe benefits) it didn’t bother me and in fact seemed like a little fun.  I’ve always wondered what that guy thought when Joe danced with me later.

Oh my gosh!!! This is so cute!!!! I loved it. Although, I might have skipped the laughing and chit-chat if I were you and just let the guy have it right in his nose! And it's kind of strange that your friend didn't stand up for you..but if you're secure with it whatever works I guess! I love this part:
OK so there was that time when I was 12

but I was dressed up for Halloween

and had stuck stubble to my face with eyelash glue
that's hysterical to me! great write!
