Afternoon Hikes

Missing image
High on the ridge
                    an eagle soars
                                  in the distant horizon
blue shadows smile
                  on the visitors within
                                        streams rage
                                                    on their journey
down to the river
                sandstone stacked
                                  eon to eon
                                            as the wind & water
                                                              sculpts
the final
        sculpture
                              gentle breezes
                                            smile on me today
as I enjoy
          Mother Nature
                      in all her glory
                                      on an afternoon
                                                      hike.

    vantage

This vantage lets you take it all in, and reflect....well done.

As a personal choice I would have referred to MN as "She" or "Her", instead of the noun MN. By not stating MN and saying ", I enjoy her in all her glory, it pulls the reader deeper into your vsion, by filling in the missing words themself, instead of being given the image directly.........this solice of afternoon....is a marvelous image.

Oh I know this feeling well being a hiking enthusiast myself. The endorphins alone give you the feeling of well being, then to be able to take in nature is a bonus.
