Love

The sounds of my beating heart.
The passion burning inside.
My love for you grows stronger,
and no longer can it hide.

I hid behind an excuse.
I hid behind a lie.
But now that I know the truth,
all I do is wonder why.

I wonder why you kept it inside.
I wonder why you made me wait.
A girl can only last so long,
before it's all too late.

I really want to be with you.
You mean the world to me.
I know that you're so different,
and for my love, that's the key.

You hold the key to my mind.
You hold the key to my heart.
My heart aches more and more,
whenever we're apart.

    great poem!!! WOW. You are a realy really good poet! We are starting a group for girls in love.     You hold the kep to my heart? I know what you meant, lol. Yet another one of your brilliant works. You're so talented! I'm not sure if I asked you this, but is there really someone in your life that you're describing? Your rhyming is the best I've seen! Really! I loved the stanza:

    I hid behind an excuse.
    I hid behind a lie.

    I can definitely relate to this. Great write
