Show me love, and I'll show you a better way.
------------
Explanation 11-28-04:
I was feeling depressed and pondering some deep thoughts last night about being and feeling loved.
Actually though I was really feeling sorry for myself with no excuse.
There is one person who has always been there for me and loved me, that one is Jesus.
For Jesus has fulfilled all his promises about love for me.
1 Cor 13:4-8
4 Love (Jesus) is patient, love (Jesus) is kind, {and} (Jesus) is not jealous; love (Jesus) does not brag {and} (Jesus) is not arrogant,
5 love (Jesus) does not act unbecomingly; it (Jesus) does not seek its own, (Jesus) is not provoked, (Jesus) does not take into account a wrong {suffered,}
6 (Jesus) does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but (Jesus) rejoices with the truth;
7 (Jesus) bears all things, (Jesus) believes all things, (Jesus) hopes all things, (Jesus) endures all things.
8 Love (Jesus) never fails; .....
(NAS)
Now all Jesus is asking for me to do is show Him love back by obeying His words of life.
He also promises that if I obey Him that I'll be compete and not feel un-loved any longer.
So back to my statement.
Jesus says:
I have always shown you love, now show me love, and I'll show you a better way.
Sincerely,
Shannon

Excellent
I Corinthians 13 is my favorite chapter of the Bible I also have it posted on my front page. It shows Christ's love for us and also shows the way we should love. God is good all the time and all the time God is good!! He has done so much for us. Humans are forever in his debt although all He wants from us is our love and faithfulness. Jesus is something else. He gave His life for me!! And you and the rest of the world. WOW!! It still amazes me the depth of His love. God bless you and yours always. ~Angel~ -

Great piece

Although I disagree with the principles of this piece, I think it's well thought out. I'm an ardent believer in that God and Jesus are just ideas, good ideas, but I don't think they need to be real in order to give us closure about love. The way is simple- spread love and you will be loved back.
-
I really enjoyed this I think it states beautifuly the love that Jesus has for us and is a simple reminder that we are never alone. thank you for sharing
love and hugs

so true
very deep (and true) meaning here. i think you did a great job thinking throught this one. all those that commented saying that they didn't get it or that there is no meaning haven't taken the time to try to understand. to me at least, it is very clear. awesome job, stay strong in the faith, keep up the good work, and best of wishes to you!

Do I like this one-liner? thousands times a yes
It's basically you saying that if you answer the love I feel for you with the same amount of love, then my love will be growing stronger (and then following that vicious circle of it
)
I'm not in to the background, but that is just my atheic mind (if I spelled that right?
)
anyways, keep up your beatiful way of writing!

i like how this is short and to the point. really makes one think.
-
I would drop the comma in this one-liner...it is not needed and trips the tongue. Obviously, this is meant to be a quotation line...and no, admittedly, without the background...i would not have known for certain who you were referring to...but i do not know if that is even necessary either. Without the background it is open to interpretation as well. I am not sure why people did not get the line. I found it to be pretty straightforward.

I agree with korean, you people need to look below the surface. I think you're saying that if we show the love, then Jesus and God will show us how wonderful life can be? You're making my wheels turn.
-
Wonderful words (but Mark might consider it bordering on plagerism.)
-
ummm i know there is a meaning and i think i geddit but im not sure - very thought provoking

beautiful
hmmm...altho it's very short...and altho everybody said stuff like "no meaning..blah blah blah..." to me...there is a meaning...but i can't puzzle it out...i mean...i get that your message is point blank..but the thing i can't get is the who? whom should we show the love to?? your background says Jesus...so we should show Jesus love...and He'll show us the better way to live...am i correct??? if i am...then your message was beautiful...^^ i'm glad to find another christian online ^^ -
Its a very short piece...but it says alot.I like the way you chosen the wors in this line..keep it up...
take care. -
Intresting .
-
Surprisingly short, no? Provokes a lot of thought though - I'm still not sure what you're trying to get at, unless this is supposed to be a depressing poem. When I clicked on it, I thought it might be about the Swedish film of the same name (which I still have yet to see....)
~Elsie -
Ummm, good thought provoking commenty thing. Not sure exactly what you are trying to get across, but props to you for making us all scratch our heads! This means a couple different things in my mind ... hmmm ...
-
oo man why be so down in the mouth
The b/g u have selected is all about love my friend
-
Uhm... I'm sorry... but I don't like it at all... It doesn't have any meaning I can figure out, so...
-
was that a poem?
